Sunny Seattle

This blog is officially in catch up mode!  A last minute cruise kept me from my posting duties.  Luckily it did not stop Bob from taking pictures.  There are a boat load of great photos coming soon from Alaska.  First, I have a few from Seattle to share.

This was our second trip to Seattle but this time there was no conference to attend.  We had lots of time to enjoy all that the area has to offer.

The most famous landmark in the city has got to be the Space Needle.  The entire downtown skyline is really fabulous.

Mt Rainier can be seen from many, many miles away on a clear day.  It almost seems like something from Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Pike's Market is a must see!  Down by the waterfront you can buy almost anything including fresh fish, flowers, nuts, spices, produce, and art of all kinds.  I especially love the bundles of fresh lavender!

The practice of throwing whole fish is something that everyone waits to see...and video with their phones.  This particular fish went right through the hands of the girl behind the counter and onto the floor.

The street performers and artists in Seattle are really talented.  We saw some top notch entertainers in front of the very first Starbucks right across from the market.

Seattle is definitely one of our favorite cities in the summertime!  It's young and vibrant and alive.  Posted below are more of Bob's great photos of this wonderful city.
