Going To The Sun Road

I'm not sure how to accurately describe Glacier National Park. There are only so many times you can use the  words beautiful, gorgeous, awesome, and amazing.  Bob and I are completely out of adjectives.  We just keep repeating the same ones over and over.  We are taking suggestions so please feel free to provide us with some additional verbiage!

Lets just say Glacier is the most breathtaking place we have seen yet. Just when you think you have seen the most beautiful sight in existence, another view appears that is even better.  Here are just a few.

Driving on the narrow two lane road can be hazardous.  Lucky for us I have the best possible driver and Bob has the best navigator.  I'm sure he appreciates my contribution to our safety even though he rarely thanks me.

Some of the most incredible sights for us are the huge waterfalls from the snow melt. The park is just full of them and some even rush down on the road bringing large boulders with them.

Wildlife is abundant and we were lucky enough to check another animal off our list of God's creatures we most want to see in the wild. This adorable little bear is about a year old according to the rangers.  While Bob was snapping pictures at a fairly close range I was checking his life insurance policy to see if being eaten by a bear is double indemnity. If anyone has direct knowledge of this type of clause please contact me immediately!

He may look small but when he stood up on two legs (and he did a few times) he was taller than I am.  My concern was that Momma Bear was probably near and most definitely MUCH larger.  Everyone knows you don't want to tick off a mom!

We have acquired some bear spray now just in case we accidentally run into one while hiking.  The bear we saw is a cinnamon brown black bear and not a grizzly.  The parks are full of grizzlies however, and we have met plenty of people who have spotted them and showed us the photos to prove it.  We would love to see one...but only at a safe distance.

We were able to see quite a few Mountain Goats and Big Horn Sheep as well. The babies are so cute!
They seem to pose for Bob's photos. Perhaps they realize he isn't going away until they do.

We also got to see another Bull Moose in a beautiful setting.

Fire is a sad fact of life in the mountains.  It helps to rejuvenate the forests and all the experts say it is necessary for a healthy environment there.  It is still hard to look at the aftermath however.

Below are a few more of Bob's favorite photos.  When I figure out how to post videos I will add a few of those as well.
